SUBMISSION OF PAPER

Requirements for new submission

Authors may choose to submit the manuscript as a single word file to be used in the refereeing process.

Requirement of revised submission:

Only when the submitted paper is at the revision stage, authors will be requested to put the paper in to a 'correct format' for acceptance and provide the items required for the publication of the manuscript.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Authorship Guidelines

Authorship credit should be based on: (i) Substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data, (ii) Drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and (iii) Final approval of the version to be submitted for publication.  All of these conditions should be met by all authors. Acquisition of funding, collection of data, or general supervision of the research group alone does not constitute authorship. All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in an acknowledgments section. All authors must agree on the sequence of authors listed before submitting the article. All authors must agree to designate one author as the corresponding author for the submission. It is the responsibility of corresponding author to arrange the whole manuscript upon the requirements and to dialogue with the co-authors during the peer-reviewing and proofing stages and to also act on behalf.

Ethics in Publishing

The ethical policy of JAST is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines . Readers, authors, reviewers and editors should follow these ethical policies once working with JAST. The ethical policy of JAST is liable to determine which of the typical research papers or articles submitted to the journal should be published in the concerned issue. The publishing decision is based on the suggestion of the journal's reviewers and editorial board members. The ethical policy insisted the Editor-in-Chief, may confer with other editors or reviewers in making the decision. The reviewers are necessary to evaluate the research papers based on the submitted content in confidential manner. The reviewers also suggest the authors to improve the quality of research paper by their reviewing comments.  Authors should ensure that their submitted research work is original and has not been published elsewhere in any language. Applicable copyright laws and conventions should be followed by the authors.  Any kind of plagiarism constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.

Publication Evaluation

In addition to rapid Peer Review Process, the JAST Journal has Post-Publication Evaluation by the scientific community. Post-Publication Evaluation is concentrated to ensure that the quality of published research, review and case report meets certain standards and the conclusions that are presented are justified. The post-publication evaluation includes online comments and citations on published papers. Authors may respond to the comments of the scientific community and may revise their manuscript. The Post-Publication Evaluation is described in such a way; it is allowing authors to publish quickly about Aerospace, Science and Technology concepts.

Preparation of Manuscripts

JAST manuscript lengths are based on the total number of words in the manuscript, including the abstract, equations, tables, and references. Extra allowance also must be made for figures, particularly when they are numerous. Regardless of its original length, your revised manuscript should be as short as you can reasonably make it while preserving clarity and essential content. Normal limits are as follows:

  1. Full-length Paper: Approximately 4000-5000 Words
  2. Technical or Engineering Note: Approximately 2000 Words.
  3. Technical Comment or Readers’ Forum item: Approximately 500-600 Words.
  4. Survey Paper: Approximately 12,000 – 15,000 Words.

Format and Style

General:

The entire manuscript, including abstract, nomenclature, footnotes, references, figure captions and appendixes, must be 12-point type, DOUBLE SPACED, with 25 mm margins all around. Make the headings short but informative (specific). Please be sure that each sentence is clear and unambiguous, and that paragraphs are of reasonable length.

Title, Author’s Name , Affiliation:

The title should appear in upper-case letters and must be 16-point type in uppercase. A good title usually is six to eight words and is informative. The author’s name should follow. Co- authors’ names should be on one line if they all have the same affiliation. If they have different affiliations, position each name on a separate line. Each affiliation line should contain the author’s company or institution and city. Also the exact mailing address of the (first) author should be provided. All correspondence regarding the manuscript will be sent to the first author unless otherwise.

Abstract:

A full-Length paper must have an abstract of 200 (maximum) words. The abstract indicates the objective of the investigation, the major techniques employed, and the major new results and conclusions.

Nomenclature (optional):

If symbols are used extensively you may insert their definition between Abstract and Introduction. List the symbols in alphabetical order within each of the following groups: English group first, then Greek, subscripts, and superscripts. Numbers and other symbols should be listed last. Acronyms should be defined in the text, not in the nomenclature.

Introduction:

The paper must include an introductions: a brief assessment of prior work by others and an explanation of hos the paper contributes to the field.

Acknowledgments:

All acknowledgments should appear in a separate paragraph at the end of the manuscript, preceding the References.

References:

All the references should be cited throughout the manuscript text as well as in the Reference section organized in accordance with the JAST reference style. Volume, issue and pages of the whole references must be specified according to the JAST format.Within the text, reference should be cited in numerical order according to their order of appearance. The numbered citation should be enclosed in brackets.

Example: It was shown by Prusa [1] that …. In the case of two citations, the numbers should be separated by a comma, for example, [1,2]. In the case for more than two reference citations, the numbers should be separated by a dash.

Appendices:

Use appendices to record details and data that are of secondary importance or that needed to support assertions in the text. Make sure the text contains references to all appendices. Prepare and appendix. Reference containing bibliographic information about works cited in text.

Conclusions:

The conclusions should stand alone with out either references or referrals to the main text for more details. They must be logically from the text but not be just summary of the paper.

Tables:

Plan tables to fit the column width of the journal (8.5 cm) or, if necessary, the page width (17cm). Each table must have an Arabic number and a caption (definitive title) at the top. Tables (and figures) should occur in reasonably close proximity to the text that refers for them and should not repeat information available in the pape4r. Fonts smaller than 10 pt should be avoided.

Figures:

Publication of many manuscripts is delayed because of poor figures, usually because the lettering is inadequate. All lettering must be sized so that it will be at least 8 points high when the figure is reduced to column width (8.5 cm): avoid variations in lettering size. All time and graph points must be distinct. Figures should appear within the text, close to where they are cited. Please eliminate all extra  spaces in the figures and between the parts of multipart figures, Photographs should be prepared in high resolution (at least 300 DPI) with tiff or eps format.

Mathematical Expressions:

All mathematical expressions should be include in the manuscript. Care should be taken to distinguish between capital and lowercase  zero (0) and the letter (o), etc. Mathematical expressions should be centered and fit into a single column when set in type. Equations that might extend beyond the width of one column should be rephrased to go on two more lines within column width. Numbers that identify mathematical expressions should be enclosed in parentheses. Refer to equations in text as “Eq. (1),” or “Equation (1),” etc., at the beginning of a sentence. Units: Authors should use the SI system of units.

Submission:

Those who have not suitable access to internet, may submit hard copies of the papers with a disk containing full manuscript to the office of Journal of Aerospace Science and Technology. Provide copyright form, proposal referees names, and complete contact information including the name of the corresponding author. The manuscripts should be presented in MS word or TEX format. Authors are encouraged to submit their papers electronically using journal website.
